ADD outline

I’m not sure I even remember the last time I had time – made time – to stop and make dinner, then hang out with a friend. All on a random Thursday night.

The most dangerous phrase in language is “we’ve always done it this way”.

It wasn’t planned, but it happened. It will take some time to get used to. On a whim, driving a lil bubby home from driver’s ed we talked about what we could make different for dinner. I don’t think I’ve made a weeknight dinner in five years. Right? Don’t judge. Life’s just been busy and abnormal – but last night, I weirdly had a very normal night.

Dinner was just BBQ chicken sliders, but I got a lil bit of coleslaw to sneak on the fresh-made rolls with the meat. No one EVEN mentioned it was there… and they ate it all.

My cooking skills are more than a little rusty. The bag of chips didn’t even make it until the sliders were ready. Think I can get my quantity skills back? Cooking for three HUGE boys… it’s all math.

And thank you, Tiffini … made and served dinner and went for a drive with a friend. I’ve really, really missed the moments of normalcy the last several years. It was nice to have one back. I’m reminded what a tremendous blessing the “foundational” people in your life are – over a caramel apple in a quiet bakery.

Sometimes I think about how hard it will be get back to normal. Then I get a night like last night and realize how surrounded I am with amazing people. It’s time to figure it out…. Business is business. Your people are life.
