Anytime you make a big reset in life, it’s a chance to climb ALL the way up and course correct to where you want to go. So… where do YOU want to go?
A few months go – literally within a few minutes of each other – Justin and I both had the “opportunity” to reset what had been individually each of our focuses for the better part of the last decade and say, “well — now what?”.
So, while I try to look at every “opportunity” as a possibility to reset and retry, IF you can avoid everyone doing a hard reset all at once, that might be SLIGHTLY less stressful, but nonetheless – here we are!
I’m not a big fan of looking backwards. You can’t change it. You can’t go back. You can only be really honest with yourself about:
Next, you pick up your shit and move on, look up, look forward, count all the great people who rose up to hold you and love you. And then mentally say, “thanks, but no” to the things you no longer choose not to have in your life.
I love that new directions timed perfectly with a new decade. Forever and ever I can remember a clean slate on a clean new time. For the least patient person in the world, nearly three months on ice to “think quietly” (SO not me) has been both a seemingly infinite form of torture, and a tremendous blessing of perspective in a way I’ve never had one.
As I sit here early this morning on the dawn of a new era: people, possibilities, and potential stretch out in front of me in more ways than I’d dared to hope for. Justin and I have had the chance to step back and say, “what would we change” – because we can.
Of course it will make you catch your breath. I don’t sleep well, but that’s just kinda par for the course – on a new course. It’s a little scary, but scary in that way you climb a trail up a cliff to a beautiful view not everyone dares to take.
A new decade. Fourteen new possibilities to explore fast and furious. Surprises around the corner, no doubt. Friends and a foundation that will lead building something I can be excited about, and a twinkle in everyone’s eye as we look into the future.
Let’s do this.
